Bo Chang
Candidate
for Seat 5
Sunnyvale City
Council
SpecialInterestWatch notices that Bo Chang, in addition to
fundraising, has lent himself a considerable amount of money for his campaign.
We also see that he has taken huge amounts of contributions from developers,
unions and PACs and a good portion of the money he has raised during his
fundraising ventures is from residents outside of Sunnyvale. Is he running for
a seat in Sunnyvale or San Francisco??
It’s hard to tell. Oh, and it
looks like the Sunnyvale Public Safety Officers Union sent out several flyers
bearing Bo Chang’s name, at least two slamming a candidate not even running
against Bo for a total contribution of over $14,000! Perhaps if Bo gets elected, more raises are
in store for our public safety officers.
What is really interesting is that one of Sunnyvale’s biggest
lobbyists, known for spreading large contributions to pro-development
candidates, is a paid campaign advisor to Mr. Chang. It looks like this lobbyist has gotten Mr.
Chang a substantial number of very large contributions from builders and
developers. With all this money from
outside Sunnyvale and from builders and developers, will he really act for the
benefit of the residents of Sunnyvale?
It is also interesting that Mr. Chang switched political parties just
before running for this elected office.
SpecialInterestWatch does not want to jump to conclusions as to why this
transpired, but the public can decide that issue for themselves. And don't
forget to get your cute little Bo Chang pen when he appears at your door. We
wonder if any of his overly generous developers and unions have used one of his
pens to write out checks to him!
LAST MINUTE UPDATE – Bo Chang just received approximately $1,500
in last minute in-kind contributions from the South Bay Labor Council AFL-CIO
PAC. This includes money to pay people to help Bo in his campaign!
