Jim Davis
Candidate for Seat 6
Sunnyvale
City Council
Jim Davis, a newly retired public safety officer, also put a large
amount of money into his campaign. One wonders if Jim is elected whether or not
the amount allotted for public safety salaries will jump from 64% to 84% of the
general budget in the next few years. At a recent forum, Jim complained about
the City spending $13 million of its reserves to balance the budget. It
shouldn’t be that shocking to Jim that the City is spending so much money, mainly
for Public Safety, in that his own compensation has increased about 25%
in the last seven years. Compare that to the rest of the general population who
have seen their own salaries increase by less than half that amount .You can
see the rest of the public safety salaries, here on our website!
They certainly are eye-opening. We wonder how much money PSOA (the Sunnyvale
Public Safety Officers Association) is going to pump into Jim's campaign to
ensure that the next seven years will be just as profitable. Oh, and it looks like the
Sunnyvale Public Safety Officers Union (PSOA) sent out several negative flyers
bearing Jim Davis’ name, that absolutely slammed his opponent. Not nice! Of
course, PSOA is well known for that kind of behavior from prior elections and
spent almost $19,000 to further defile their reputation in the community. Perhaps
if Jim gets elected, more raises are in store for our public safety officers. Just wait; they are bound
to make late contributions late in the election cycle just like they have in
past years so that it will be tough for their competitors to get the word out.
And don't forget to get your adorable little magnet from Jim when he knocks at
your door. Just remember it came courtesy of contributions from developers and
PACs.
LAST MINUTE UPDATE – Jim Davis just received approximately $1,500
in last minute in-kind contributions from the South Bay Labor Council AFL-CIO
PAC. This includes money to pay people to help Jim in his campaign!
